MCrup1's Bio
I've been an active collector of rare paper money since the age of 24. My collecting started with a variety of uncertified small size notes and obsolete bank notes from Connecticut. As my collecting progressed so did my fascination and appreciation of the history of all US paper money. I was also captivated by the beauty of 19th century notes. I prize high quality and rarity, but am mindful to stay within my collecting budget.

Traveling into New York City quite often and the fond memories I have as a young child of the big city lights; I’ve gravitated toward small and large size FRN’s and FRBN’s of New York.

During most of my undergraduate career I lived in the downtown city section of New London, CT. Through my formal education I studied Mechanical Engineering, but ultimately earned degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the University of New Haven.

Looking at my registry sets you will find several listings for chartered banks from New London, CT. One of my goals is to assemble complete sets of series 1929 Ty.1 & 2 notes for small size nationals of this town. All chartered banks at this time in New London issued Ty.1 & 2 notes of the $5, $10 and $20 denominations only.

There are various other sets that I’ve begun to assemble and look forward to completing in the future. Holding the notes that have passed through the hands (to some capacity) of Americans of decades and centuries past is thrilling for me, a tangibe connection to those who walked before us.
